Homemade Welding Fixtures

What do you think about homemade welding fixtures? 

I like them although they look rough and seem not precious. But each of them refers to a very initial idea, a simplest way to hold parts appropriately. 

A suitable welding fixture requires 2 key points. First, to hold the parts in proper positions, and secondly not to interfere weld beads. 

And furthermore is to make it as simple as possible for welder.

An initial idea is a good basis to brainstorm a better design!
